.......and MORE baby layouts

My grandchildren have always been my favorite subjects to scrap. And with a new granddaughter and loads of photos coming my way, you can expect to see baby layouts for a while.

The first layout is sort of a round-up of photos from little Charleigh's first week "on the outside". Not a lot of action unfortunately, since like most newborns she spent most of her time sleeping. I loved the simplicity of this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I used scraps from my Kaisercraft "Pitter Patter" papers and some chipboard embellishments from Crate Paper's "Little You - Girl" line. (Don't you just love that bunny?) The doilies were from Hobby Lobby and I used a Silhouette file to cut the little roses. Then of course, there are those sweet baby pics:

This sketch came from the Citrus Twist Kits blog.

I re-interpreted the large photo into a series of smaller pictures. Charleigh's second and third week included more awake moments, as seen in the photos. I used the August and September kits from Citrus Twist Kits and came up with the title when I found that doll ephemera from Crate Paper's "Cute Girl" collection.

This sketch came from Let's Get Sketchy; again, I liked the simplicity.

Like many scrapbookers, I don't often show up in my own layouts. My daughter took this photo with my camera so I have no excuse. I used the August kit from Citrus Twist Kits; loving the Cute Girl ephemera pieces!

And just for variety, here's a zoo layout (also a frequent scrap subject, since my mom and I have an annual pass and visit our local zoo fairly often). This is the sketch from Citrus Twist Kits:

And here's my layout, using the September main kit and add ons from Citrus Twist Kits. I loved the red kangaroo's pose as he watched the visitors go by and stayed cool under the trees.

There are more baby photos every day; looking forward to getting some from a professional "newborn photo shoot". I'm also looking forward to Halloween photos to scrap in a few weeks (Halloween is my favorite holiday to scrap. I love the Halloween themed collections!)

Thanks for looking; have a wonderful day!

Two more baby layouts

I will admit it -- I'm a little bit obsessed right now with baby photos and baby layouts. Charleigh, our eighth grandchild (and fourth granddaughter) made her appearance last Tuesday morning. I'm heading to Rochester, MN., this coming Tuesday to meet her in person and take some photos of my own. I can't wait to cuddle that little girl!

Meanwhile,  I used the September main kit, Sprinkles embellishment add on and patterned paper add on from Citrus Twist Kits to make two baby layouts. The kit featured some elements from Crate Paper's Cute Girl line. I love the quirky colors and bright, happy embellishments.

The the first layout, I used this sketch from Creative Scrappers.  Here is the sketch:

And here's my layout:

In a little twist of cooincidence, I was inspired for the above layout by one createf and submittted by Laura Whitacker of Stuck?! Sketches. Laura included a link to her process video, which showed the plastic packaging technique for creating backgrounds. I had so much fun with that technique on both of my layouts.

I used the same kit for the second layout, this time with a sketch from Stuck!? sketches. This is the sketch:

And here's my layout:

I had made a mini album and a couple of layouts with a "baby line" and was growing weary of pastel pink, so the raspberry, teal and black color scheme was a nice change of pace.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

A new granddaughter!

First and foremost, I'm happy to report that my husband, Michael and I welcomed our eighth grandchild into the family this week, Charleigh Janise was born at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 in Rochester, MN., to our daughter Heather and her husband Dustin. Charleigh is welcomed by two brothers: Ethan, 15 and Cameron, 11. I'll be flying from Colorado to Minnesota next Tuesday to meet her; so excited!!!

As you can guess, three of the four layouts I completed this week feature photos of Charleigh.  The first features a photo taken shortly after her birth. I used patterned papers from Kaisercraft's Pitter Patter collection with chipboard and ephemera from Crate Paper's Little You Girl collection. The sketch is from Citrus Twist Kits. This is the sketch:

And here's my layout of our new little sweetie:

The second uses photos taken Tuesday evening when the boys came to the hospital to meet their new sister. Littlr Charleigh already has both of them wrapped around her tiny finger, I used the September kit from Citrus Twist Kits along with a sketch from the Sketches in Thyme blog. Here's the sketch:

And my layout:

The third features Charleigh having cuddle time with Momma. The sketch is from Let's Get Sketchy. This is the sketch:

Once again, I used Kaisercraft's Pitter Patter with chipboard stickers from Crate Paper.

I also scrapped a non-baby layout (while I was waiting up anxiously for word from Minnesota on Monday evening and into the wee hours of Tuesday). I used a sketch from Citrus Twist Kits and the Citrus Twist main kit for September. This is the sketch:

And this is my layout, featuring goats from the Pueblo Zoo (which has become a favorite go-to spot for my mom and me on a pleasant late-summer afternoon)

I also made a mini-album for baby Charleigh using Kaisercraft and other assorted papers with Crate Paper Little You chipboard and ephemera. The inspiration was a book made by Angie Gutshall for Citrus Twist's "Oh Baby" album class earlier in thre summeer. Here are a few of the 18-plus pages, mini bags and inserts I made for it:
