One sketch, two looks

Hello from southern Colorado! We arrived from Illinois two weeks ago, but since our new home isn't quite ready we are living in a model home courtesy of the home developer. We will be in our house in about 2 weeks and it will be worth the wait.

Until then, I'm scrapping out of my crop bag. Over the weekend, I used the October 30 double page sketch from the ScrapMuch? blog for two layouts. This is the sketch:

For the first one, I used the sketch as-is along with the November kit from Citrus Twist Kits to showcase some fall festival photos:

For the second one, I flipped the sketch and moved the title.

(We don't have our big old dinosaur of a computer system set up yet, so I'm really missing my Photoshop for processing photos!)

Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

I've been featured!

So excited to see that my layout from my last post, "The BOO! Crew", was featured on the Sketches in Thyme blog this week!

This was my layout featuring sketch #171 by one of my favorite sketch artists, Shawn Lahr:

So now I can sport this badge:

We're still heavily into packing up for our move (the van picks up our stuff Friday Nov. 13 --- oh no, I'm not superstitious...) but I "childsat" Saturday for two boys while their parents went to an all day meeting. Since they're older, they don't need a lot of "sitting", just supervision, so I was able to scrap. I used the Nov. 6 sketch on the Scrapmuch? blog and the Citrus Twist Kits October kit to make this layout. My oldest daughter and her husband attended a 90's party -- they just have all the fun!

A few of the Halloween-y bits came from my stash. (Have I mentioned I love scrapping Halloween? And I still have photos of this same daughter and spouse at a Haunted Trolley Tour in their town that I'm hoping to scrap soon)

Back to the packing. My scrap room is nearly empty, but I do have my crop bag packed with essentials and a couple of kits so I can still scrap until my new room gets set up on the other end of our move.

Thanks for looking. Have a great day!

Just ONE MORE layout before I pack up ...

.... my scrap room! The moving van will be here a week from tomorrow to pick up all our worldly possessions and transport them 1100 miles away to our new home in Colorado. In the midst of sorting, purging and packing, I managed to carve a little time out for some Halloween layouts using leftover supplies from the past two years. (I love scrapping Halloween!!)

I used the first November sketch (#171)  on the Sketches in Thyme blog. I've always loved scrapping with Shawn's sketches, and this was no exception. This is the sketch:

And here is my layout. I have tons of embellishments left but not a whole lot of Halloween paper, so I went heavy on the stickers, flairs and other bits and pieces. The photo of my grandson and his friends seemed to call for a bit of crazy, anyway,

I also scrapped these two layouts earlier in the week during my packing breaks. Both used supplies and sketches from Citrus Twist Kits. The first one also used more of that Halloween stash.

Hoping to get the rest of the scrap room packed up and ready for the moving van tonight, or tomorrow at the latest. One benefit of moving is that it's a great motivation to purge all of those supplies that have been hanging around for a while. Two large boxes of leftover kits, paper, cardstock, embellishments and some little 6x6 mini albums (just waiting for some mini pages!) are heading tomorrow to our local shelter for abused women and their children. Freedom House is a wonderful place offering shelter, guidance and support to victims of domestic violence. The Thursday night art group hopefully will put everything to good use. It's so much easier letting go of my hoarded stuff when In know it's getting a great new "home".

Thanks for looking; have a great day!
