"Telephone Scraplift" and a ballet recital

I love "Telephone Scraplifts". That's when someone creates a layout, then passes it by email to the next person, who scraplifts it. She in turn sends only her version to the next person on the list, and so on. Each participant sees ONLY the layout done by the person immediately before her. After the last person has completed her layout, everyone's work is revealed. It's always interesting to see how the design has changed (or not) from the first person to the last.

This layout was created for a recent telephone scraplift on Cookin' Up Creations. The photos were taken by my oldest daughter when her two sons met my youngest daughter's new baby boy. I love these photos and this layout! I used the May Faded Jeans kit from Scraptastic Club.

That same baby (Hamish, who was born April 9) looks so much like his daddy, right down to their facial expressions. I scrapped my favorite photo of the two of them for the Sketch 216 reveal at Nuts About Sketches, using the Bella Blvd Baby Boy Collection. I had been waiting for just the right design to use that adorable chipboard giraffe!

Granddaughter Anna participated with her ballet class in a recent spring dance recital. She looked like a little princess in her tutu, ballerina bun and -- her favorite part -- a little lipstick and blush. Of course I took photos ... and yes, I scrapped them! I started with the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection and Sketch 217 from Nuts About Sketches for this double pager featuring our little ballerina:

I loved the bold, bright colors of this line and jazzed it up a little more with some stickers, fussy cutting and a touch of Stickles and Liquid Pearls.

Anna and two of her little friends entertained themselves backstage by playing Ring Around the Rosy. They looked like little sugar plum fairies and had such a good time chanting, falling down and giggling. They had a long wait -- they were the 24th dance group of a total of 26! This layout was inspired both by this week's Sketch Inspiration sketch and by a Birthday Bash scraplift challenge at Cookin' Up Creations.

Today I was fortunate to spend a few hours in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, with one of my favorite people, my 14-year-old granddaughter Kaycee. We had a lovely time browsing the shops, strolling the  lakeside and dining at a waterfront eatery. She lives in Tennessee but is here in Illinois for a few weeks, making the rounds of area relatives. Not sure how much scrapping I'll get done tonight; it's been a fun but long day!

The Birthday Bash continues at Cookin' Up Creations! There is a new challenge each and every day (check out my Birthday Banquet Menu Challenge), with some fun games and prizes. The party lasts throughout the month of June. Come on over and check it out -- still plenty of time to participate!

Thanks for stopping by -- have a GREAT weekend!
